The copy here tells a great story for the "seven" theme:
The Gulf Co-Operation Council Conference was scheduled to take place in Kuwait in 1992 shortly after the end of the Gulf War.
Unfortunately the Conference centre had been destroyed by the retreating Iraqi army - resulting in one of our most challenging assignments to date. 6,500 m2 of air-conditioned space to be designed and constructed to the exacting standards of Middle Eastern Heads of State within 17 weeks. The complex of buildings incorporated a giant banqueting hall with catering and service facilities for 500, a main Conference Hall, Majlis spaces for each of the main visitors and facilities for international media and television companies.
The task could not have been accomplished without close co-ordination between our team and the structural engineers at Atelier One. This collaboration eliminated almost all requirements for secondary support systems for the services equipment, as primary structural elements served a dual purpose. The multi-layered roof provided an outer shade over an insulated inner skin. This arrangement reflected and dispersed the very high solar gains, before they could impact upon room air conditioning loads.
